Emma enjoys getting to know her patients and strives to make their journey as stress free as possible.
Emma is a highly skilled Nurse, Midwife, and Bereavement and Loss Specialist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the public and private hospital systems.
She obtained her Nursing degree from Buckinhamshire University in 2001. Thereafter, she gained valuable experience as a Staff Nurse, and then a Senior Staff Nurse, in a Coronary Care and High Dependency Unit in Charring Cross Hospital, London.
In 2003, Emma returned to Ireland to complete her midwifery training and take up a position as a Midwife in Galway University Hospital, where she gained Antenatal and Gynaecological Theatre experience post registration.
In 2008, Emma joined the team at Galway Fertility Clinic where she worked for 8 years as a Fertility Nurse. Here she continued her professional development gaining a graduate certificate in fertility Scanning from University College Dublin.
Emma returned to Galway University Hospitals in 2016 to work in the Gynaecological Theatre. She then took up the position as the Clinical Midwife Manager 2 in Bereavement and Loss in Portiuncula University Hospital, while also completing a post graduate diploma in Loss and Bereavement with the Royal College of Surgeons.
Emma has extensive experience of working with couples undergoing fertility treatments, pregnancy loss and gynaecological issues. She is passionate about couples being supported and informed throughout their fertility journey.
